First gut, and now hormones and adrenals!

The last five months I’ve been talking about all my gut health and trying to get that straight. A few weeks ago I got results back that my stomach was clear of yeast, bacteria, and other bugs (yay!). However I was still having some symptoms of bloating, cramping, and just feeling so very fatigued. I had another test come back that showed I had adrenal fatigue, as my cortisol levels were not what they were supposed to be. On top of that my hormones were completely plummeted. My estrogen and progesterone levels were in “postmenopausal” level…meaning my body was barely getting by on the day to day basis. No wonder I was so fatigued all the time! I’m not 100% sure of why this happened, but it most likely has been getting worse and worse over time for years. When I got all those results back it was honestly a relief. My feelings of fatigue and other symptoms I had been having for honestly years actually had a reason. It wasn’t in my head, I had proof right in front of me that my body was run to the ground. This week I started some natural treatments for the hormones and adrenals, so we shall see how I start feeling over time with those! I’m still really restricted on what I’m eating because my gut is still healing, and I still have lots of “allergic” reactions to most foods. However, that could very well be connected to the hormones so hopefully all of it will level out.

As much as the human in me wants to be done with all of this. I cannot even begin to talk about the growth I have experienced. I have learned so much about myself. God has brought me so much healing and freedom from things I didn’t even know still held me back. If it wasn’t for all of this going on I wouldn’t have seen it and I have NO doubt that God will use this for His glory one way or another and so I pray that He does!

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! Psalm 30:11-12
